Winter Skin Heroes

Extra measures need to be taken during this very dry winter season, especially for my dry skin which can easily become sensitive. Dryness and sensitivity often go together. I’m glad to have found a few dryness-defying treasures that I keep in my bathroom cabinet.

Hydration is obviously the key, but most moisturisers won’t cut it for me during winter. I still use them though and top them with a heavier product to seal it in. For this, I have my May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon. This is a cure-all for any dry patches or redness or sensitivity my skin may be battling with. According to May, it’s made of only the purest oils which may explain the hefty price tag. It smells luxurious and divine, like a melted chocolate mint. This is my precious.

Once a week, I would treat myself to REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial. It really brightens the skin instantly and removes impurities. I also noticed that my skin absorbs everything that I apply much more easily. I was initially afraid of using a Vitamin C based-product as it irritates my skin, but my skin is fine with this. There is a slight tingling sensation during the 1 minute application but afterwards, my skin is anew and glowing.

And while my face is happily hydrated, my body takes a dose of Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Body Oil. The Jasmine scent is amazing and and since this is a light oil, it’s absorbed easily without the greasy feeling. I love the glass bottle that comes with a pump as it makes everything easy to manage.

Do you have any winter skin heroes?
