Traveling: Carry On Essentials

I’ve just been on an 11-hour flight and thought I’d share with you some of my carry on essentials! As always, I like to keep things sweet and simple. All I really need is a lot of hydration for my skin to combat the dry in-flight air.

Almost as soon as I get settled into my seat, I remove my makeup and cleanse my skin. The easiest and fastest way to do this is by using cleansing wipes. This time I’ve brought with me a pack of L’Oreal Skin Perfection Refreshing Gentle Wipes. I love that it doesn’t dry out my skin too much. Alternatively, a small bottle of micellar water works, but I’m too lazy to prepare and cotton pads. Also, cleansing wipes also makes the whole process of cleansing the skin less awkward while staying in my seat.

Moisturisers aren’t usually enough for keeping my skin hydrated throughout the long flights such as the one I’ve been on, and that’s where a handy dandy hydrating mask comes in. Not only does it lock in moisture, it also ensures that I’ll have a hydrated face for days after my flight. I’ve recently come across the Cosmedix Rescue+ Intense Hydrating Balm & Mask and enjoy the thickness and formula. It also calms at the same time.

I never go anywhere without a lip balm. In this case, Herbivore Botanicals Rose Lip Butter is my traveling companion. The subtle rose flavour is a delight! In addition the calming and soothing effect of rose, the hand cream I brought with me is also rose-scented. The MV Organics Hand Cream’s packaging is perfect for traveling as it is encased in a stainless bottle that comes with a pump.
