New Releases: Elizabeth Arden
These new releases from Elizabeth Arden are as close to autumn as we can get–which is a pleasant and appropriate break from all the spring collections we’ve been seeing lately.
First up, base. I really like the finish and texture of the Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin 24HR and I imagine it would work so well with normal to oily skin due to its semi-mattifying effect. It’s lightweight yet coverage is very good and it almost looks and feels like skin. It also has SPF15 which is all the sun protection you need during colder weather. The only qualm I have is that it tends to catch on dry patches. So dry skin beware and moisturise vigorously. Lasts day long without the need for touch ups.
Meanwhile, the new matte shades of the Beautiful Color Moisturising Lipstick are a great addition to anyone’s autumn lipstick arsenal. The color on the tube runs true and is exactly what you get on the lips. It’s highly pigmented and full color is achieved in a couple of swipes. These have a semi-matte finish and wear is decent. It did transfer to my coffee cup. I found them not to be particularly drying, but a layer of lip balm underneath is the best route, especially with the impending cold and dry air. Nude is a light peach nude which is a tad too light for my skintone–this one washes me out. I’m not one to wear brown shades, but Chocolate is beautifully bold and complements my skintone so well. The effect is a modern 90s vibe. I can’t wait to wear this!
