To say this Spring’s weather is insane may be an understatement. Played the chance card and rode a ferry to Waiheke Island to bask on some sun as it was shining early in the day. And like how it is, unpredictable, it started to pour. But that’s alright–the sun came back out. Made use of this good time to relax, sit under a tree and have a little drink while waiting for the drizzle to fade. Most people think gin is for old people (and some don’t like it at all). Call me old-fashioned because I seem to like gin-based drinks, specially the sparkling fruity mixes (which is not old-fashioned at all!). They’re great to pair with food as well (think Project Botanicals). But since my cocktail making skills is closer to 4 than 10 currently, I’m happy to stick to Mist Wood Gin–the apple variety is super refreshing and perfect for the warmer seasons. It actually makes me look forward to summer even more. And I can’t wait to take my red straw hat to places (and take some gin and apple with me to share with the girls)!

What are you looking forward to this summer? Let me know in the comments below to be in the draw to win $150 voucher from The Iconic! Congratulations Les! You’re our lucky winner!
