Living Nature’s Bloom Lipstick ($40.00)

One of the many lovely things I received on Thursday’s mail was Living Nature’s newest shade of lipstick called Bloom. Natural and organic skincare ranges are quite accessible in New Zealand and the good news is that it doesn’t end there–natural and organic is alive and kicking in the cosmetic scene as well. Living Nature is a certified natural!

Although the shade looks fabulous on the tube, I’ve found that the effect is quite different on my pale lip tone. It comes out lighter than the intended shade of carnation pink, so much that it looks like a pale pink on me. Pale lips just make me more pale. Having said that, I may not be wearing this one regularly. I’m a bit disappointed that it didn’t translate properly onto my lips because the shade on the tube is something I would like to wear. The formula is great, however. The color pay-off is buildable to opaque. It goes on smooth into velvety finish, and stays on for a few good hours before reapplication is needed.

On top of the no-nasties approach, Living Nature is donating $1 from every sale of ‘Bloom’ lipstick to support the work of Breast Cancer Network New Zealand. That’s beauty, mindfulness, and charity in one!
