Facial Mists: Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner
I’ve been on a lookout for a good facial mist for awhile now. Summer days are gently swaying their way in and not only would spraying mist on your face feel refreshing on hot days, I’ve learnt that facial mists could also be quite an essential step in the skincare regimen. Toners get a bad rep as being too harsh and drying for the skin, especially for those like me who have dry and sensitive skin. But when I heard about hydrating mist toners, I just had to experiment.
Trilogy’s Hydrating Mist Toner ($29.90) is housed in a frosted amber glass bottle and is by far the best-looking facial mist that I’ve seen. Most facial mists come in plastic bottles and this makes a huge difference in the look and feel department. Trilogy may be known for their award-winning rosehip oils and while the Hydrating Mist Toner does not contain rosehip oil, it is formulated with natural and organic ingredients which is a standard in their skincare line. Rose tones and restores the pH balance, lavender calms, and aloe vera cools. I’ve been suffering with a bit of redness on my cheek and nose area prior to using this and it has since disappeared. I credit it to spritzing my face with this mist toner after cleansing as I’ve noticed that it helps moisturisers absorb deeper into the skin. Without it, the moisturiser just sits on top of my face–my skin looks hydrated yet it feels tight. When used alone, the mist toner is refreshing and hydrating. The fine mist makes for a great makeup setting spray as well.
Now that I’ve begun using facial mists, it’s safe to say that it has earned a secured spot in my skincare regimen. You would know why I’m drawn to this–it’s hydrating and fuss-free. A couple of sprays is adequate. There are times when I’d be caught over-spraying but it’s only because it feels and smells so good!
