Discovering Dior Cosmopolite
I’ve been captivated and fascinated by Raf Simmons ever since seeing his work process in Dior & I. His recent work on the Dior Fall/Winter 2015 collection is even more breathtaking with its psych prints, handsome minimalism, and subtle mismatch genius. I mean, just look at these pictures!
On the beauty side of things, Creative and Image Director Peter Phillips created his first colour collection to match. I’m loving the darling blue tones, grey greens, and metallics. It’s all very modern and playful (Dior scribbles on the 5 Colours Eyeshadow Palette? That one is called Exuberance, by the way). The fun doesn’t stop there as the Addict Fluid Eye Shadow is a delightful little eyeshadow magic trick. It’s lipgloss for the eyes in terms of consistency and application. Swipe, wait a while, and be amazed. This product is colour-intense and is amazing for creating bold graphic looks such as the once Peter Phillips created for the show. Best tutorial here. She uses the silver shade Magnetic, too.
From the collection, I’m getting more use out of these two. I love a good rosy red and Rouge Dior Lipstick in Continental is a gorgeous shade that will work on any skin tone. I haven’t worn black nail polish in years but I’m blown away by the mirror shine quality of the Dior Nail Polishes. The shine factor of these is on a different dimension, it’s shine-ception. I’ve been keeping my tips dark and moody thanks to Black Out. And I’m thinking of taking Metropolis to NZFW tomorrow.
