Much to my excitement, the newly opened Beirut at Fort St. lists ‘pashmak’ on their dessert menu–a treat that I’ve come to know and love since visiting Turkey many years ago. I took home a couple of boxes of it (and turkish delights, of course) from the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul and have always craved for the white fluffy thing, as I call it, for lack of better term. I’ve since forgotten the proper name until I read it on the menu, which brought all smiles to my face. Although I’m happy with a traditional one, Beirut’s modern take is delightful–saffron, nuts, and dried fruit toppings. I skip the clotted cream since I want the sweetness to linger, but the apricot tea pairs nicely. Their middle-eastern fusion offerings are a great fare and are definitely modern.
A bit of 70s vibe with super wide flares that I got a few months ago. Also bringing out my wide brim hat again–I can almost feel summer!
