A Day in Aitutaki
One of the smaller islands in Cook Islands, Aitutaki, dazzles with magical shades of blue in its majestic lagoon. The pristine waters are breathtaking and unbelievably stunning. Turquoise as turquoise could be. On One Foot Island, there’s a chance to explore and walk on water in one of the biggest and softest sandbars I’ve ever seen. Not before swimming with friendly tropical sea creatures in the middle of the lagoon. Scrumptious lunch on the boat afterwards (I can never get enough of coconut marshmallows). Saltwater never felt so good drying on my skin as I stared into the horizon, waves rocking the boat, boys singing tunes on the ukulele, the sun crisp and warm on my face–wishing the day would never end. A day trip to this idyllic place only leaves you wanting for more.
