When in Wellington

The fire that had devoured the Jardin Grill Restaurant at the property annexe that has forced Sofitel Wellington to closefor almost half a year, but this quaint property situated in Bolton Street is now looking polished as new.

Smiles were in abundance during the three days that we stayed--this warm service made the property glow even further. There's much to be admired interior wise. The Green Room, a luxurious cafe/bar lounge designed astutely with elegance in mind, to the exquisitely beautiful Jardin Grill, and the rooms themselves. The Luxury Room we stayed at were seven floors up with a view of greenery on one window and Wellingtonian concrete-jungle on the other. Tinges of gold glistened from the desk lamps, pillows, and minute decors.

Jardin Grill

The beautiful interior of this lush restaurant is beguiling. Such memorable dining experience paired with amazing offerings.

Dining at Jardin Grill is not to be missed, especially with Chef Roy Giam's sophisticated approach to French slash Kiwi dishes. I have possibly forgotten the name, but I could not forget the experience of devouring my choice of dessert for the evening. The server was short of information about the spring themed botanical concoction but it was delightful to say the least. Breakfast is beautiful as well. There's such care for detail when the Front of House (Sandeep at that time) remembers how you like your coffee and which smoothie you enjoy the most--whisking another one to our table just before they take them away in preparation for lunch. Vacations are made for taking time, and arriving at 10:30 for breakfast can happen.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
